I picked out each of my 2 slabs at a stone yard and then my fabricator bought it and took care of templating, fabricating and installation. I use the Miracle Sealants Kleen and Reseal spray once a week. I use a spray bottle with a mix of rubbing alcohol and water and then wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. I was scared there would be a stain, but a quick wipe left it perfect. Although I do try to wipe up spills promptly, there have been times when I saw something like tomato sauce or fruit juice. I adore the colors and it is easy to clean. Would love to see your finished project and any suggestions from anyone on coordinating potentially two countertops and possibly two different (white / light wood) cabinet options.Mine is Aquarella. We are also debating on a light wood for cabinets or white, or mix. TheWhite quartzite also pulls that same look in the Alexandria with also same creamy, darker areas and the whites. Right now, I am also debating if we should use on just our island with waterfall edges or also perimeter? I as first going to use Quartz Statuary Massa on perimeter to keep island as showpiece and keep costs down, but then was thinking I love the Alexandria so much - should we do all countertops same? To add to decisions, I found a quetiapine white quartzite (name is escaping me) that we put on hold because I felt more compelled to keep natural stone with the Alexandria. (Yes, to the sticker shock but I knew it was coming). Have we are doing a complete reno on a 100+ year old farmhouse and are using the Alexandria Quartzite. Guide yourself like the picture, pulling together the colors & samples add, edit, delete. Unlike colour consistant quartz, quartzite is natural and can very tremendously. What's more, be sure you have a design layout that your fabricator can estimated how many slabs you will need so you can pick out the best two/three pieces together. Some slab yards will sell directly to the public as well. ![]() Also regardless of the area you might run into slab yards that supply on to the trade therefore they will not give you directly the price. A kitchen remodel is a big investment so be sure your confident in all your choices. This small investment in time will also save you a headache, money and buyers remorse later. Pulling together your samples can be a fun activity and a useful one if your going at this alone. Due to the visual texture and array of colour I would definitely take several samples of paint colour, cabinet finishes, etc to compare with the slab next time your shopping. Yes I wanted to show you mine just because the choice of colors is similar.Īlexandria is a beautiful countertop. I thought of you and wanted to show my husband, your kitchen. We actually looked at Fascination today too, but it wasn’t as pretty as yours. ![]() Absolutely love your kitchen, and had trouble finding it earlier. I’m not sure if this is the norm, but the stone yard said they won’t give us pricing, so they have sent our choice to the fabricator and the fabricator will give us the final price?ĭid they at least hold it for you until pricing came in?Ĭpartist, thanks for the link. ![]() Know that every single time I walk into my kitchen, my counters still make me smile and I still love finding new patterns within the stone. Things like the knobs and pulls, and even my backsplash tile. Additionally, I then found some "bargains" on other things that weren't as important to me. However I took that price and divided it up over the number of years I expected to live here and it made it feel a bit more palatable. When my quote came back for the slab (My builder bought the slab and had it shipped to the fabricator.) I gulped quite a few times. However, using a digital image-guidance system has disadvantages of high cost and need for special equipment. Accurate preoperative marking of the eye with the patient in the sitting position can minimize the intraoperative misalignment errors. ![]() All manual methods for corneal marking can cause errors. Manual methods for horizontal meridian limbal marking were commonly used preoperatively, including the slit-lamp marking, surgeon's direct visual marking, bubble marker-assisted method, pendular marker-assisted method, and tonometer marking. Several surgical techniques, such as limbal relaxing incisions, peripheral corneal relaxing incisions, and excimer laser surgery, are used to eliminate or decrease coexisting astigmatism in patients with cataract. Because persisting astigmatism can decrease the visual acuity and the vision quality of patients after cataract surgery, predictable correction of the preexisting corneal astigmatism is critical and popular. It has been estimated that 30% of patients with cataract have preexisting astigmatism of over 0.75 D 8% of the eyes have corneal astigmatism of over 2.00 D and 2.6% of the eyes have corneal astigmatism of over 3.00 D.
